We had a very busy week!
We completed the Reading and Math portions of the MAP test on Monday and Tuesday. We are half way through the Language Usage (we do this in Technology) and will complete it next week:). We did a wonderful job and our scores show it!
On Mondays, Fr. Don Dunson comes to see us to share his many stories and tons of knowledge with us. He teaches at the Seminary and yet finds the time to help us prepare for the sacraments! I know his place in heaven is all set :)
Along with MAP testing, we still managed to complete an author study on Keven Henkes. We zeroed in on the two stories Sheila Rae, the Brave and Chester's Way. We looked at writing adjectives to describe a character and to write a Summary (which is shorter than a retell). Then in Grammar we had fun playing compound word games and looking at compound words and words that are not compound (you can't just put anything together!)
In Math, we are looking at different strategies to complete Subtraction facts a little quicker. We have looked at counting up, counting back, and think addition so far!
We attended Mass on Thursday which was planned by Grade 5 (great job!) - we also got to hear our wonderful children's choir at the Mass. Mr. Shaffer would love to have any new choir members if you feel your child is interested!
Jinny and Charlotte are in the choir and did a beautiful job at Mass!
We are so busy in Room 205 :)
