It was wonderful to have a full week of school to really enjoy our story this week. In our Rooted in Reading Series, we read a great story called The Invisible Boy! Please take the time to watch the read aloud on youtube.com. The students did a nice job as we 'dove' into the story and the illustrations to discover the Author's Purpose. The story teaches a lesson that all students and all adults need a reminder of!
In Grammar, we looked at complete vs. incomplete sentences. This was a little tricky for second graders. They always want to assume the rest of the sentence when it is incomplete!
In Math, we are continuing to review strategies that help us to add a little quicker. This week 'making 10' and 'following patterns' were stressed. Students all gave a thumbs up for xtra math. Anytime the computer or ipad is involved they enjoy their homework!
In Religion, we are looking at the Holy Family and the Sign of the Cross. Next week, we will take a quick review of the Sacraments.
