Update 9/10/21

 Hope everyone had a great Labor Day!  We learned all about what everyone did in one of our Morning Meetings this week :)

Even though we had a short week, we began our first story in our Rooted in Reading Series.  The story was called A Bad Case of Stripes.  We looked at the Main Character and how we could summarize the story into a much shorter version.  We even drew our own picture of the Main Character - Camilla :)

In Grammar, we looked at how to alphabetize a set of words - it gets tricky when you get to the 3rd letter :)  We had fun as we put our classmates in abc order!

Math found us reviewing how to add in any order and still come up with the same sum!  We also looked at doubles and near doubles.  Try practicing these in the car on your next trip - example, 7 + 7 and 7 +8.   Keep practicing those flashcards for just a few minutes each evening!

It was great to see many of you at our Curriculum Night!  Thanks for writing your child a short note - the room was buzzing with excitement on Thursday morning as they read them :)

During one of our Morning Meetings, we created Play dough items that told something about us ----- Ask your child to tell you about it :)
