In Room 205, we thought we were going to have our first ‘normal’ week of the New Year! Instead St. Angela decided to surprise us on her feast day!! It just made our week more special 😁
To match our winter weather, our Rooted in Reading story was Akiak. It is a very touching story about the Iditarod in Alaska. Be sure to check it out on YouTube! The skill we worked on was Fact and Opinion- the students did a great job looking at the difference between something you can prove and something you just feel. In Grammer, we looked at possessives. It was fun putting phrases into possessives!
In Math, we are enjoying working with money. It is surprising that in this age of debit cards the students did a great job counting coins and dollar bills!
Learning about Legos in Science!
In Handwriting, we are continuing with our lower case cursive letters and in Religion we have started looking deeper into the Mass (this week was the Introductory Rites).
Here are a few reminders of what we will be doing during Catholic Schools Week (January 31 to February 4):
Monday - we will begin our week watching the St. Ed 'Trash Talkers' - then we will make a card for the Senior Center with an 8th grade friend in our spirit wear
Tuesday - we will enjoy a video while Mrs Horner gets a special lunch with the other teachers -- it is also crazy hat day & dress down day
Wednesday - we will make a thank you card for Fr. Don & dress up like our future desired career then we will play Bingo organized by our 8th grade friends
Thursday - we will have no homework to give our parents a day off 😁 - we will also wear our Disney themed costumes/pj’s/ or t-shirts
